Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is
laser therapy safe
?
Laser therapy is completely safe painless and non invasive. It has been
widely used internationally for over 30 years and to the best of our
knowledge there has never been a single negative side effect. The laser
used by any of Matrix Laser Centers® is sometimes called a soft
laser with no more power than a 60-watt light bulb.
Which parts of the body are treated with the laser
?
A low-level laser ( soft laser ) is applied to specific energy points
on the hands, faces, and ears, associated with nicotine addiction.
How effective is laser therapy for smoking
cessation ?
International clinical studies in Europe and Canada have shown very
much higher success rates at ending nicotine addiction than any other
nicotine replacement therapy method currently available.
How Many Treatments are needed ?
Laser therapy has been successful for total smoking cessation - in many
instances after only one 60-minute appointment. The increased rate of
the body’s endorphin production helps the client through the crucial
physical withdrawal period. Generally the first 72 hours are the most
difficult time for a person to quit smoking.
Is laser therapy covered by my medical insurance ?
Laser Therapy for the treatment of smoking cessation is not eligible
for health insurance coverage at this time. However, Matrix Laser Centers
programs are very affordable at just $399.00 A smoker who smokes two
packs a day typically spends $3000.00 to $3600.00, on cigarette annually.
The costs of our procedure is less than 1/8th of a person’s annual
cigarette expenditure.
Are there any health or medical conditions that would make laser therapy
an unsafe treatment ?
If you are pregnant, have cancer or epilepsy, use a pacemaker or are
taking photosensitive medication, laser therapy should not be used for
smoking cessation treatment. Laser therapy promotes cell growth and
repair, so studies are inconclusive on the effects of the above situations.
Not treating these particular clients is a precautionary measure. Matrix
Laser Centers ® does not diagnose or treat illness or prescribe
medication. Laser therapy is not intended to replace medical care. We
recommend that you consult your physician for a professional diagnosis
of your health.
Is laser therapy guaranteed ?
Treatment using low-level laser therapy is designed to help the client
physically cope with urges and cravings. The low-level laser does not
take away your psychological addiction to nicotine. We found we had
a much higher success rate by not giving guarantee's due in part to
the increased commitment and investment of our clients. Matrix trained
staff will work closely with each client to insure their success.
How much is laser therapy treatment and what is included ?
Matrix treatment of $399.00 includes laser therapy, education
about nicotine addiction, suggestions on lifestyle changes,a CD to coach
you through your first weeks of being smoke free, a list of suggested
supplements that help rid the body of toxins ( please consult you physician
before embarking on any course of vitamins or supplements ). A telephone
help line that you can phone at any time should you feel the need to
light up a cigarette. Written instructions to help you remember all
the points raised during your first appointment Most clients are able
to quite smoking with just a single treatment but should you require
a booster treatment and provided you have not introduced nicotine into
your system this is available free within the first 6weeks provided
you have not introduced nicotine back into your body. After 6 weeks
all booster treatments are just $100.00. ( With booster treatments we
can normally get you an appointment the same day as they take just 15minutes
)
What
if i start smoking again am i still able to get a booster treatment
?
If you introduce nicotine back into
your system a booster will not be sufficient and a more thorough treatment
will be required,
